GITAM University, India, established its other campus, in Hyderabad, near Rudraram village (about 12 km from Patancheru, Medak). This campus admitted its first batch of students in the year 2009, second batch in 2010 & the third batch in 2011.

Dr. Ch. Sanjay is the first Director of GITAM University, off-Campus, Hyderabad. He has 20 years of experience in industry, teaching and research.

The Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi on the recommendations of the Joint Committee of UGC-AICTE-DEC has accorded recognition to the University for offering distance learning programmes from the academic year 2009-10 vide letter F.No. DEC/Recog/2009/dt. 09-09-2009. The University is currently offering 13 programmes through distance mode.
Ever since it has been accorded the deemed university status, the University has been making relentless efforts in maintaining standards in teaching and research, ensuring proper character building and development among the students, encouraging community development programmes, nurturing leadership in young men and women and imbibing a sense of responsibility to become good citizens, while striving for excellence in all fronts.[1]
The university offers courses in the fields of engineering and business at undergraduate, post-graduate level.[2]

The faculty has industrial, research and teaching experience at national and international level. Senior executives from industry frequently visit the campus to deliver guest lectures.[3]
The library is a room in the basement of the main building. It has a large collection of books, periodicals and monographs in the fields of Engineering, Technology, Science, Management. The library is accessible to the students throughout the day.
The campus contains a digital library with around 80 computers accessible from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M.
The campus has four hostels, two each for boys and girls. These can accommodate close to 1000 students.
The university runs 7 college buses and six R.T.C hire special buses from the city.
GITAM Institute of Management, GITAM University, located at Rudraram in Medak district, organized ‘Kibbutz- 2010', a techno-management fest, during March 2010.
Kibbutz (ki-boots), a word of Hebrew origin, denotes ‘a community settlement organized under collectivist principles' and connotes the spirit of working together as a team.
The competitive events of the fest included Blueprint Blues (Business Plan Presentation), In ‘Quiz' itive (Quiz), Entre-prerana (Entrepreneurship), Ad-X-press (Advertisement Designing), Tit 4 Tat (Debating), Sea Program (Programming and De-bugging), Chakra View (Treasure Hunt), Splurge (Face Painting), Dance-pe-Chance (Dance), Dyno-Mike (Singing), and Ishtyle-O-Meter (Fashion Show).
About 450 students from 75 colleges across the twin cities took part in the events. [1]
